TGIF....

What a great evening it is. I find myself looking forward to Friday's "Concert in the Park" here at our local park. Tonight was a tribute band to Tim McGraw and next week will be a tribute band to "Chicago". We get to spend time with our friends and family and just hang out. Tonight was a little chilly so we didn't hang out too long afterwards but nonetheless, it was still fun to get ready and see one another. This weekend is going to be really exciting because we have our brother and sister in law coming into town. We have lots of fun things planned such as "girl time", wine tasting, visiting a cousin nearby and just catching up...One of the most exciting part about this coming weekend is Sunday the 29th when my husband and I finally get baptized. It's been a very long time but it's finally here and I can't wait!

My golden shoes...

It's been a long day but I've managed to get everything I needed out of the way. One more trip tomorrow and I'll be ready for the weekend.  I do look forward to getting dressed up in the mornings because I always try to have fun with whatever is still hanging in my closet. I'll usually start with one piece of garment (i.e. my top) and base everything around it. I have a lot of black in my closet so I'm always trying to mix and match.  I also don't want to wear the same outfit twice (the same way) so it can get a little tricky trying to make something old look new.  The last thing I do is look for my shoes, my purse and then I'm done.

I call these my "golden shoes" because they've been in my closet for at least 8 years and today was the first time I've worn them. I have another golden pair of heels but I've worn those before.  These are so comfortable but I was never able to find an outfit to go with it. I guess I wasn't trying hard enough.  They are a size 5 and being that my foot shrunk, it fits like a glass.

I love my job because I get to shop almost everyday. Of course, I don't always shop for myself but I always stop in to look, try on a few things and I'm on my way...  I have a photographic memory when it comes to wardrobe so I'll know exactly what the store has, where it's located and what the latest trends are...crazy, I know.

One last thing I'm wearing are these adorable Sunnies from Trendy Hip Buys (my favorite online vintage boutique). I love how they look, the size and mostly the functionality of it. I wish these were prescriptions! I have a few more from THB's that I haven't worn yet.. Stay tuned for more..

Super cool glasses.  They do look like Minnie Mouse ears too right? I'll bet you people at Disneyland will be asking me like crazy where I got these glasses! I can't wait to wear them the next time we go there.

Tomorrow is "Concert at the Park" featuring a Tribute Band for The Eagles and we'll also be wearing our newest ATF and BFA tees!

Have a great evening!

On the set...

It was a great day today in LA. We had a photo shoot and film test today with the main actor, the Director of Photography and the Director.  I love it when the cast and crew is so humble and passionate about what they do. This re-confirms why I love what I do so much.

The film I'm working on is actually a television comedy show (series). The script is so hilarious and I can't wait to share more about it as we get further into production. I haven't worked in film or television in awhile but it's usually very long days.  I'm working with Jesse Lopez, my right hand man, so it'll be nothing but fun. I will be the main Costume Designer and Jesse will be the main Set Dresser.  Here are a few photos from today's quick session.

A touch of Red, White and Black...

It was a full day today waking up super early to take Aidan in for his dental appointment. I love having a doctor that I can trust with my conversations, my family and ultimately my life, so it's been quite a journey trying to find the best doctors for Aidan. We finally found an amazing dentist "Dr. Dan" who is so sweet, so professional and after only one visit, he remembered us! His staff is so nice and the office is very kid friendly and visually attractive to the eye. I wish it was my dental office too! I do have a great dentist though and the BEST optometrist ever (Dr. Suneet Gupta). His staff are the best ever and sometimes I secretly wish I worked there too.. haha. Ok enough about Doctors.. I can go on and on...

After I dropped Aidan off, I had a gazillion things to do. I never made it to "The Dressing Room" but I was able to pull more stuff for my "Body Shapers" blog that is still coming up soon.  I don't usually like to blog about something I haven't tried myself so for those of you who have been waiting (patiently) or are interested in this topic, just give me a little bit more time. I want to make sure I really love the products and have actually used it before I blog about it...

I have a long day tomorrow in LA for another production meeting so I'm going to turn in a little early tonight. I hope you have a great evening.

Vintage Teal...

It's been so hot this past week so staying inside my AC home is the number one ideal. I had some work to attend to, some pick up for ATF and a lunch date with one of my best friends so I had to leave the house for a few hours. I also got two amazing calls today for more work and I'm just so blessed with what is coming my way.  More on that later...

You can't really see the details of this dress because I wore my vintage teal jacket over it.  The dress has a racer back sleeveless cut and the dress has an empire waistline.  The dress is very flowy and would be such a great dress for dancing in stilettos lol...  I don't know where I put my blow dryer (since Vegas) so I've been putting my hair in a bun and just throwing on my hats. The weather doesn't make me want to put too much products in my hair but I didn't even realize how nice it was today. My sunnies and purse are also vintage! As you can tell, I love mixing highs and lows as long as it makes sense. I love wedges because I can still add height without the discomfort of a pair of heels. Wedges make walking so much more comfortable and fashionable.

I hope you have a great day!

Summer NEON Polishes and Trends....

It's been quite the summer lately. The heat here in Southern California is really reaching the hundreds. I have so much "shopping" (for work) to do but I dread stepping out into the heat.  Watermelon has been our number 1 snack and my ever so loving Sparkling water hits the spot with a dash of lemon.

I love how the wonderful Spring trend has extended into Summer. Floral prints and Neon accents have truly gone full circle.  I am a child of the 80's so these 2 trends have always been a staple in my closet. I actually have a bright Neon Yellow bag that I haven't even carried yet. I must find the perfect outfit soon! I'm also looking forward to getting pattern, mostly floral print tights because I love wearing tights under a larger sized tunic, v-neck t-shirt or under one of my longer silk collared shirts.  Neons, tights and straight legged pastel jeans are my current obsession at this moment.

I've been changing my nail polish at least once a week "just because". I think I'm going to change back to my Neon Pink for this coming week because it just brings out my tan even more. I'm naturally tan but Neon just takes my skin color up a notch.  It also accents outfits that I would have never thought to pair up together. I have to admit, I've been a lot more riskier lately so playing is name of the game. I just love all the brights of this season.

In addition to nail polish, I've also been so obsessed with Vintage Sunglasses. I've been picking up high and low end sunnies solely because they look good.  Sometimes you don't need to spend hundreds of dollars on one pair because there are so many cute ones for 1/2 the price! Remember, it's not how much it costs, but how you put it together that matters...

American Apparel - 3 for $15.00

I usually use my BUTTER by LONDON base coat, then I use 2 coats
of polish and finish the BUTTER top coat. It's not gel, but it works
just as well.  Since I change my nail polish so much, a week is very long for me!

BUTTER by LONDON Nail polishes run $14.00 a bottle but I got the special
2 (Base and Top Coat) for $25.00. The nail polish is also a favorite of mine
and goes on very smooth and is also a longer lasting polish as well.

NEON hits the spot

I was at American Apparel the other day to look for swimsuits and I fell in love with their nail polishes. They are 3 for 15.00 so I bought 3 different NEON colors! This is the first that I've worn.  I love wearing a bold accent color when I'm wearing all black (or mostly black). It makes a statement all on it's own.  Believe it or not, it was a rush rush, let's hurry, we are running out of time, kind of ensemble today.  This is exactly why I am currently so obsessed with my fedora and hat collections. It's a great way to just slide my "already too thin" hair inside.  The nail colors really make a bold statement on it's own but I also added this very cute "pointy" gold stud earrings.

This tuxedo jacket I have on is from my original wardrobe kit. I can't believe I can fit into it because I got it for my models! Yay! I'm so happy because it's now coming into MY DOLLHOUSE! Yay!!

So we are on our way to Disneyland so that means another change of clothes. I will blog about that later, but for now, this is my look of the day, until the evening....

Have a great day my friends and family!
